Does anyone have any idea's on how one might go about buying parts from Japan? I understand most (including me) don't want to afford local dealer prices (50%-100% retail markup). So even if it were possible I could see prices being astronomically insane. And of course the parts I want may no longer be available.

I really think you would need to find a local person to help you get the parts. There are export issues and import issues so you cannot just do mail order from them. I also do not believe that it would be some big discount and 3rd for your 1993 there are not many people in Japan that have those you will probably get less of a selection.

If you have not tried everythinginfiniti.com for parts you should, they are way below normal retail prices and have the ability to get nearly everything you would need.

I am talking about JDM goodies...Cabin air filters, massaging seats.....Many dealers including OIP and Joe are not able to order JDM spec parts. Having a middle man in Japan sounds like it could get risky/costly.

What exactly are you looking for? now that the dollar has fought back to even grounds with the yen now is likely your best time. Massaging rear seats were available on the LWB president only. Hence they are reclining and massaging and the non LWB does not have the room to support reclining seats. The rear air purification can be had for under $100 used

What all is there that's just freaking cool and bolts right on (to 90-93 G50s)? LED tail lights, wood grain President steering wheels and chrome rear view mirrors are pretty sweet but proving VERY difficult to find. Or in the case of the mirrors are just silly expensive. And aren't even sure if they'll just clip right in. But yeah, I'm definitely interested in what other goodies are out there?

Paul I think a lot of the stuff you're talking about buying new is probably NLA. You can't buy an entire seat for a G50 anymore, period. Lots of other parts are becoming extinct too... Honestly, you're probably better off finding a middle man and getting that stuff off yahoo.jp auctions, or just importing an entire car and stealing the goodies off it.

Wood grain wheels fetch a solid $300 sometimes w/ the president bag. Thats before its out of Japan though. Q45 LED tails are super rare as most are president ones

Yessir, those wheels are a pretty penny. I had one slip through my fingers a month ago, still kicking myself. Going to Japan in August, will be pestering a lot of junkyards if GF lets me! I'll let you all know if I can come up with anything.
