I know a lot of you guys are from KY, so maybe you can shed some light on this.

I'm torn between buying a new component set or tein springs/kyb Gr-2's. I would buy the springs/struts in a heartbeat, BUT

A) I don't know whether I can do it myself and I don't know anybody else around here that can help me.B) If I can't do it, I don't know where to take it (maybe some of you KY guys or a few of you TN people can help me here)

The component set would be much easier (I have experience in that line of work), but then again, I think I'd appreciate the suspension setup a LOT more.

I have a pretty large tool set, torque wrench, jack, and jackstands, and know I can get a hold of some spring compressors...should I even attempt this?

Ugh, help me out people, either which thing to do, or whether I can do it, etc....

Thanks!

I just did Eibach Sportlines and Kyb Agx's to my S14 w/the help of one knowlegable "sp?" friend. We both had good knowledge and we both have worked on cars before. Thankgoodness though I had other friends I could call to ask questions too, otherwise we still may of been on it right now, lol, jk!

I don't know what your level of knowledge is when it comes to mechanics and whatnot, but I think it is usally a pretty simple job.

I would highly think about doing the gr-2's though, I have had bad experiences w/them before on a previous car.

I would highly recomend a higher end model such as the AGX's and if you can't afford them, I would recomend you wait till you could. You would def. thank me in the long run.

If you would want to roll up to Cincy, I would be happy to assist you, we should be able to figure it out, ask some of the other Infiniti guys though, they would have more knowledge than I.

I hope this helps.

I've done well over a dozen suspnsions on focuses and I plan on doing ALL of the work to my 240 myself, I recommend going out and buying some spring compressors (I have 2 sets, both were around $25) and just going for it yourself.

took me and my friend little over an hour to strip the suspension off my old 240 and put it on the CA car, its only like 16 bolts and really easy, just watch out for striping out strut tower bolts the are a PIa to remove once striped

Thanks guys. I guess I'll give it a try...seems daunting, but really it's just time consuming and a bunch of bolts.

Oh, and I'm going with KYB-GR2's because I had them on my last car and everyone at maxima.org seems to be using them with great success.

I'd definitely get the AGX's, but KYB doesn't make an application for 2000+ Maximas/I30/I35s. Cattman has some modified 4th gens..but they require different year springs...etc.
