I noticed this at Costco while we were in VA last month. I wonder what bin location they keep the Corvettes in?

I guess it's just one of the many "services" they offer their members, but honestly I wasn't impressed with Costco when we went. I had a membership a few years ago and only used it one time. I still prefer SAM's Club hands down.

I would take advantage of that if I was looking for a truck in a second! I think Ill just take the test driving option for now..

Ive never been to a Sams Club but I cant even imagine how their fresh food quality an bulk items could be beat.

If I had my way, I'd build a house in the Costco parking lot and live there.

They both have their advantages. I'd say SAM's Club food quality is equal and they have the same quality of items as well, even though they don't carry the same exact brands or product types. To me, SAM's carries higher quality products and more name brand items, plus Costco was kinda slim in the technology department too.

I personally saw nothing that would make me buy a membership at Costco, because there were so little differences, but that's just me. My in-laws got one because the closest SAM's to them in VA is like 40mi away and Costco is 5mi away, so I could see doing it in that case. I'm just partial to SAM's because they carry products I like, where Costco feels like more of a compromise to me.

I'm pretty sure that's a regional difference, because they're pretty much the same around here.

Also, can you explain the difference between a quality item and a quality product please?

Sam's has really good fruit, more seafood choices, and more electronics.
Costco has AMAZING PUMPKIN PIE and the best retail rotisserie chicken... in the world. I strongly prefer Costco's snack bar.

I get to try stuff from both stores because my mom has a Sams membership and I have a Costco membership.

+1

For 2.50, I get a hotdog, soda and a slice of pizza.

I recall having good experiences at Sam's Club as well but there is only one near me that I know of. But several Costco's they I can go to pretty easily...and another on the way.

People can afford to buy a GMC Acadia using cash, check or debit card?

Costco takes Amex also. And I'm hoping that was a joke as you are actually buying the vehicle from a local dealership...

Touche

I, too, prefer Costco to Sam's. Partially because the local Sam's is a bit more shady, and because Costco does take Amex. However, I'm starting to find that I can get a number of items cheaper through Amazon. So in the future I may not need a Costco/Sam's membership.

FWIW, I am almost 100% certain that anyone can buy booze at either Costco or Sam's without a membership. I think it has something to do with a national law banning "alcohol clubs" which require membership to get lower prices.

Probably so.

I shouldn't have to explain it, the definition is obvious isn't it?

I had a membership to Sam's a few years ago, but let it lapse. it required a decent commitment to purchase a lot for the savings to offset that annual membership fee, plus you had to watch the prices closely as not everything was cheaper than other stores.

The next time you buy a car, you're going to get fisted.

:chuckle:

Well, the COSTCO discount program is best suited to the new Chevy/GMC buyer who is afraid or unwilling to negotiate directly with a dealer, which can be unpleasant. One could easily get a better price than Costco if they do a little homework, and haggle on their own. But for those unwilling/unable to do it on their own, it's better than pointing at Malibu and say I'll take it..
