buying an sr20det

i am in the market for a redtop sr clip. i was going to buy from heavy throttle. some of my friends have dealt with them and were pleased, however the are extremely backordered on the restop and are not taking orders for 8 weeks. has anyone bought a clip anywhere else and had a good experience?

there's a lot of places...phase2, enjuku, venus auto, etc. I've heard nothing but good things about phase2 and enjuku...but I will not recommend venus at all. I ordered my ca motorset the beginning of june...they're sitting on both the motor and $1750 of mine, making excuses as to why it hasn't been shipped. Their customer service is horrible too

i got my clip from venus fine, not the most professional place, but i got a good deal and they took care of any problems i had, im not dissappointed at all

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews of Venus. I guess you had one of the good transactions.

lucky me...we'll see how good it was when i get the motor in...week or two-but ive been saying that for a month...definitly by end of august , but the middle more likely

i called heavy throttle yesterday and they said 6wk wait and they were willing to take my order...who did you talk to?

enjuku is backed up until forever, no hopes there for you.

you best bet is phase2 or motorex or xat in tampa

Yes this is true. I ordered my motor from Phase 2 at midnight on a Wednesday night and the clip shipped out the next day (thursday) and I had it sitting in my shop by Monday. it was actually about 16 hours short of 5 full days

Phase 2 is definitely *the best* place I have ever done business with. They are very professional and have exceptionally good products. Their customer service is top notch and have gone above my expectations on numerous occasions.

harry, that sounded a little harsh. anyway, i stand by venus, they were really good with my engine, a little unprofessional, i agree, but if you call them every day, you get good results. hell, they were so confident in me they actually shipped the engine before they got my check, and had it sit in huntsville for a while until they got the money, then sent it to my house. crazy, huh?

You shouldn't have to put up with unprofessional customer service and late deliverys. Why should you have to call an engine importer EVERY DAY? They should call YOU when something needs to be discussed, or when something happens on your transaction. With me it's just the opposite...they're sitting on my money AND my motor. I cannot say it enough: do not order from Venus Auto, go with a reputable company like phase2, enjuku, heavythrottle, etc.

I think its for thier customers that they plan on installing but i'm sure they are willing to sell them.
