Alright this coming summer I will be buying an RB20.... I was looking to get around 350rwhp out of it... What would I need to do to get there...Arp head studs, Cometic head gasket...... and what is the difference between an RB25 turbo and the Rb20? Also does anyone have the Top Hat intake manifold and does it help??

stock turbo will not make it close to that hp lvl. The turbo will blow apart on you. I would look into replacing the timing belt and taking out the crank and fixing the oil pump drive too. You going to need a new maf, and injectors for shure. Look for somebody to rom tune your ecu too or buy so good tuning software. Im looking for that goal also but i have a hks 2540, 550cc injectors, z32 maf, total redone rb20, apexi power fc, zeitronix wb af, and a bunch other stuff. I bet I have 8 times what I payed for the engine in just parts to make this thing happy at that hp. Save your money for other parts before the intake. You have a long road ahead if you want that thing to stay running for long. I live in mn im going to be making my own intake manifold for mine with velocity stacks. If I like mine ill probly make more. your not the one with the CA are you. The rb20 swap may look ez but just wait till you start it. It adds up to swap one correctly.

Want to make 350 to the wheels, eh? Get a turbo of your choice (that supports the range your looking for), injectors (GTR will do for you), Z32 MAF, a good tune, and other stuff im missing right now because I just woke up and still feel sleepy. Anyone else can chim in but thats what you really need to make it.

But yo! make sure you get the rb running first! some here been tuning their rb for a year just to get running correctly. ok?

Yeah I know it will take awhile and thats why I just want to start building it this summer.... What size turbo will I need in order to reach the 350 mark.... T3/T4 hybrid or GT28RS? And as fas as tuning it can't I just use the Apexi Commander FC-isn't it a tunable computer? Thanks guys and I appreciate the help!!! I would like to add that I already have the RB's little brother (CA18DET) in my car and it pulls hard!!!!

Nice. You mean older brother right?

I think the GT28rs might be maxing out around that. The one Im looking at is rated at 350hp so you'll need something along the lines of 425hp. GT30?

A GT30? So then another question arises-Who makes a top mount T3 flange manifold that will fit in our S13 chassis cars?? Not to mention a downpipe??

You can drop in a gt30 no problem (direct fit) but you'll have to make a custom downpipe.

So the RB20 has a t3 flange or what? How about a more reasonable number like 300rwhp? Would an RB25 turbo work for that??

Why would you want to use ****ty stock turbo? If I knew how much turbos would rate at I would help you out. Im sure someone here will help you with that. I know only so much

For 300rwhp or around there a gt28rs would probably work.

Sweet I was checking I already have setup in mind... I know the build I want will take a couple of years on a college student budget but I want to build an RB.... Another quick question what do you have to do to make the speedo work? I was reading Carl H's post about wiring... he said that the speedo will work, but I've read that you need a converter of sorts?

All you have to do is replace the RB speedo thingy on the transmission to a KA one. As far as the tach goes you will need to wire that in or get a dohc cluster if you dont own a 1991+ 240sx.

man you are just rediculous, the last thing that mike would ever do is scam someone. i have bought motors and numerous parts and work from him when i first met him and now we have became very close friends. mike didnt know me and i drove from eastern va to his shop to pick my rb26 up and he let me stay at his house the few days i was down there. and then on top of that two weeks later he flew into va to help me install my motor. boy he sounds like as ***hole, i remember the whole ordeal with your crank, and even thought you talk bad about him he was not the one that put the collar on your crank, it was a machine shop that mike took the crank to, and then when it was messed up he offered to do it again and make sure it was right for FREE no charge, but no you had to show you a** and post on the internet and what not that he scammed you, you also said that he would never respond and you couldnt get him on the phone, when in face i was there on more than one occasion when you and him were having a conversation. i am sick and tired of the bashing because of a machine shop error. i got messed up on a back door intercooler from full race and we got into a big ordeal, but mistakes happen and now i run one of there manis on my car, grow up and get over it
