Hey guys,I am looking to scratch the intercooler off my list of things to buy and want to do so this week. I have been looking on ebay as it seems to be the best place. I have a found a few cores online that I am interested in and would appreciate some input. Keep in mind this is going on a CA that will see almost 400hp daily and more on track days. Also, as far as intercooler piping goes, what kind of sensors/hoses are needed on the actual piping? (I will be using an SDS EM4-F)

Cores:

1) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33742

2) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33742

Anything else you suggest can be added to the list.

Thanks!-Ian

Actually, both tube / fin and bar / plate have their ups and downs. Bar and plate cores are generally more efficient for use in a smaller intercooler as they can generate some turbulence in a larger core, thus for the larger intercoolers, a tube and fin core may be the best bet. I would elaborate more, but I don't have my trusty turbocharging bible (Maximum boost by Corky Bell) handy. I seem to have lost it somewhere while moving to my new apartment.

I've never heard that. I went to my stupid ... local bookstore and they said no maximum boost for me. Need to get a copy next time I am at books a million. I thought bar and plate was always better.

I was under the same impression as well until I read some interesting things in maximum boost and online.
