Yet another topic i searched on, and didn't see my answer. I Jave a 1995 240sx. So its a s14. And i am getting a s13sr20det motor swapped into it. Would i buy an intercooler kit for an s13? or an s14. I think you buy the kit for which motor you have, but then wouldn't it require more modification to install? Sorry if this has been answered, but any search with intercooler in it pulls up a ton of hits. Chris

You'd get a S13 Intercooler. Get the intercooler that matches the engine, not the chassis because the holes are in the same place but the piping is slightly different.

The S14 kit will need the coldpipe cut and welded, because the TB is lower on the S13.

this is taken from pahse2motortrends website

APEX'i GT Spec FMIC for S13/S14/S15 SR20DET. The GT spec uses GTR size intercooler core for maximum cooling. Great intercooler ideal for street/strip use. We all know about the delta fin design on the Apexi core and how it improves cooling to the radiator, so we won't explain further.

This is a rare intercooler kit, if not in stock then has to be specially ordered. We do stock them occasionally.

* Please choose the right model when ordering. For 'Hybrid Swaps' (ie. S14 chasi with S13 motor, etc.) Please choose the intercooler based on the model of the car, not the motor.

i'm confused now...:help

i installed a s13 intercooler for a s13 engine but in a s14. it didn't fit well. the core didn't bolt to anything without me making some brackets. the pipes work though. i guess i would say go with the s13 kit. the pipe going to the tb will be way different then what you want on a s13 engine if you get the s14 kit.shaun

yea, id go with the s13 kit. I would rather try to make a bracket to hold core, then try to rerout piping to tb.
