I've seen multiple 2009 G37 Journey sedans for sale that are ex-rental cars - I know Hertz rents these out, among other rental companies. They have about 10-25k miles and priced nicely, also still under new car warranty but I know rental cars get abused big time.. has anyone bought one of these ex-rentals? What is your thought?

I vote no... but then again this may be the same concept as buying a regular used car off a car lot.

I guess this is like deciding whether or not you should date a prostitute or the girl who's had a lot of boyfriends (if that makes any sense to you).

Our 08 G35X is an Enterprise Rental. Purchased with 34K.I had looked at a few rentals, and this one looked great to me.Also, it is a local unit (NC). I spoke with the local manager and he gave me dates of when the oil was changed. Every 3,500 miles.

So, it's like any other used car, you have to check them out.

My 04 G Coupe is an off-lease unit from FL.

Good Luck!!

I'm with Rich on this on.

I am in rentals a lot. Well not lately but used to be. Always asked for Infiniti. I do HWY miles on those.

In my G I beat the hack out of it. If I sell mine which one would be a better deal. My used what I beat on every day or rental.

BTW My 07 was so reliable and I was redlining it on daily basis. 35k when I traded in and no issue.

These engines are fantastic. They hold up well. Just make sure you check out the car from A to Z. Ask for the service history. Check out the interior panels and seats to make sure they are in good shape. If the saving is good go for it.

It's probably fine, especially if it still has a warranty. I personally couldn't buy a car that so many different people have driven, but that's just me. I like to either be the first owner, or know that the previous owner took care of it as I would have. But as long as it checks out, doesn't have any issues, and looks good... I guess it's okay.

I would think that the type of person that would spend extra to rent an Infiniti would have more class than to dog the car. I had that rental for 2 and 1/2 weeks and treated it with the same respect that I treat my car. I would feel better knowing that the maintenance was done as scheduled. I would say go for it. I would rather have that than some used car off of a lot.

I agree with the previous posts. People beat the heck out of rental cars. I'd only consider buying a used one if the savings over a comparable one or two owner used model was substantial. If you have a good local mechanic you use, I'd consider having him check it out and make sure it's solid...then also use CarFax to check out the history.

i personally drive my g35x hard... but its serviced regularly... so if they can prove its service records and you still have a factory warranty i say go for it...

my 2005 g35x was a leased company vechicle before it got to me... no problems thus far...
