What do you guys think. Are these good deals for the mileage and model years? Thanks.

The 2002 with only 77K on it looks good. It's one year newer and less miles than most of the other ones.Price looks reasonable too. You can probably get it for even less.

Thanks for the reply Buzzman.

I liked that one too. I liked the looks of the one at smith infiniti better however.

My first choice was the one you picked and the second was the 2001 with 107k at smith infiniti, huntsville.

My only concern right now is w.r.t the dealership which has the 2002 with 77k miles. Its called A & M motorsports and they look like a small dealership going with the pics and they dont even have a website.

Now, I am not very familiar and certainly not an expert in buying cars. So what I was thinking was that good dealerships have cars in good condition and cars from smalltime dealerships could go either way. Not necessary but thats just the impression I have. Am I correct in my understanding?

What do you think about the delearship which has the 77k one. Also, I am thinking of calling them up tomorrow and asking for 9000 out the door. Do you think I could expect an even lower price?

Sorry for asking these questions but I havent bought that many cars and am not well versed with the process....still learning....

Essentially, does the dealership look good and would you trust their cars or would you rather deal with large and branded dealerships?

Thanks for the help and reply.

you seem to be very concerned with getting the absolute best deal for you money --- seemingly to the dollar.

My advice is to stop sweating it so much, just pick one and dont worry about if this one has 3k more miles or that one is 400$ less.

Buy a pathfinder and save some money, they are just as nice regardless of what people might have you believe. Everytime i get into my QX4 with 120k miles i say to myself "Man my HIDs are nice, but its gonna suck big time when/if i have to buy new ballasts for them versus just buying a couple of bulbs off the shelf. And its really gonna suck when my running boards finally crumble to nothing. Really wish i had a nicer pathfinder for less money and not have to deal with paying 800$ for a set of running board supports."

Maybe I didnt come across right. Or maybe you'd have to read my posts again...

I am between 2 choices which I mentioned.

The difference in mileage is not 3k but 30K!!The price is around the same. My 2nd choice would be cheaper actually but im not concerned as long as its all within my budget of 9k.

In fact right now I am thinking of getting the 01 with 107k miles as opposed to the 02 with only 77k miles which would likely be cheaper simply because;1) Its from a good dealership2) Its got a two tone and better color.

And thats what I was asking for. As in, if I am correct in my understanding that one would get cars in better condition from good/large delearships rather than small ones.

Essentially, I am most concerned with the condition of the car. I am trying to do my homework and I dont see anything wrong with that.

I would just save some money and get a 02/03 LE Pathfinder with lower miles for the same price, it's the exact same car, except you're missing an infiniti badge.

Dont take my post personally, it just seems you are quick to post multiple threads asking how good or how bad this car is that car is... the answers to your question arent so simple as a yes or no. More so speaking of your past posts with your previous QX4 purchase.

You probably should go to the dealerships and check out the vehicles, it would be the most appropriate way to determine which vehicle is for you. Me personally i would take the less mileage provided its in the same condition as the other one.

Some large dealerships have crappy cars mixed in with the good, and some small dealerships have crappy cars mixed in with the good. In my own experience, your best bet is to buy from a private seller who hasnt just whisked his bad history of the car away by trading it in. IME private sellers want more for their cars than just trade in value because theyve taken care of them over the years and want to maximize their money with regard to their effort. I bought my QX4 from a mercedes benz dealership in an extremely affluent town, on the trip down i was passing by 10,000 sq foot homes with multimillion dollar price tags. When i got to the dealership, the QX4 was easily the worst car on the lot. Got to check out an SLR Mclaren, and on my second trip back to pick the vehicle up these two guys were going over a maybach 62 with a fine tooth comb before delivery to the owner. My point is every dealership has good and bad apples, while a small used car dealership normally wont have those expensive models, they will have their fair share of good cars along with bad ones.

If you like the one that has 77k go check it out, lots of dealerships dont have websites. That doesnt mean they arent good dealerships, it just means they arent all that concerned with advertising or keeping up with the internet. And in their defense, they do have the car listed on the internet, so maybe they dont see a need for a website.

About the price, its too tough to say, the dealership may have just got the car in and maybe wants to keep it on the lot for a better offer, or their rent might be up and they need to push a car off the lot. Would you be happy paying 9k instead of 10k? yes, of course... would you be willing to lose a car you plan to keep for X amount of years if you have to pay an extra grand for it? This is why i say you seem to be too concerned with price... 1000 bucks is a good deal of money, but if youre planning on keeping the vehicle 4 years, youre talking an extra 250/yr that you shelled out for a vehicle you are happy with.

My personal opinion is dealers are a step above lawyers and insurance adjusters on the evil people list. They are going to stand by their "internet price" and try to convince you its so competitive already because its listed on the internet with the goal to attract trillions of buyers.

I also feel any dealership with the name "sports" is completely amateur, but that is just an opinion.

This is their one and only google review http://maps.google.com/maps/pl...gUwAA

You can possibly check the BBB to see if they have any complaints logged against them, how long theyve been in business etc... Their website is not cooperating with me right now.

Hope that helps, and again i apologize if you took offense to my original post, i only meant to offer help as i have been in the same position before and waited over 7 months to find a perfect vehicle that im just selling now two years down the road... It just isnt worth the frustration to dwell on a vehicle. Good luck in the most sincere sense.

For the record, QX4s have certain amenities that pathfinders do not. So no, they're not the same exact thing.Ugharin, I'm sure you're aware of this. I'm just pointing it out for those who are not.

I maybe wrong but remember somewhere it says QX4 has more noise isolation materials and its suspension is a little more softer than Pathfinder? Some test drive review says QX4 IS a bit quieter than Pathfinder.

As to the price difference, I'd think the more years and mileages, the less difference. When both are very very old, both values go towards zero.

Thanks for the reply. No offense taken.

I went back and read my all my posts right from the beginning. I agree that I have been quick to start off a post on buying advice with some of them being redundant. I will be more thoughtful before I post the next time.

I was being cautious especially since Id never even heard of a QX4 until I came across it last august. The first time, I didnt even know what to expect to pay(all the book values nothwithstanding - I have found that one could always buy vehicles way cheaper than the book values and hence another reasons asking for advice and tisp in here)

And also, in my defense, this forum is a little slow(I understand folks are busy )compared to the other boards that I also participate in(creditboards, myfico, ubuntu, tech-forums, etc..).. So I was quick to start off a new post when I found the replies coming slow to my threads.

But a lot of folks have been very helpful whenever they posted and provided very detailed replies. So thanks to everybody for that and I am sorry about my posting and will keep the posts more meaningful and less redundant.

Also, thanks for your info. It was helpful.
