Hey all,

I am planning on buying a manual 2006 glacier white 350Z coupe. It's got 6000KM on it, and at $36000 CAD, it's not a bad deal.

A few questions:

- What are the pros and cons of 2006 model, that I should be aware of, compared to 2008 model? I know the HP and TQ rating is different, hood is different, and engine is DE not HR.

- Does the 06 model come with dual intakes?

- I assume there are more parts available for 06 model?

Thank you in advance for helping me out here. I will soon join you guys as a new Z owner. Excited!

Congrats and welcome to family. I believe the 06 is a single intake and I think your parst list is 03 - 06 350z so yes more parts.

Hi guys,

I was just told by a quite a few people, that 06 MT has severe oil burning issue, and I was told to avoid them. Is this true?

I work at a Nissan dealership in Georgia. I have not heard of any oil burn issues on the 350z.

It is a single intake on that year z.

Hey Man,

I own a 2006 350z, bought her new, and she has treated me real good. However, 36K for a used car seems like a lot, doesn't it? And if it is a manual transmission, it should be even less, right? Is this a track model or something?

If you look around and negotiate with the dealers, I could not imagine any reason why you could not get a new one for equal or a lower price, even the fancy track model. Just look on Edmunds.com for invoice prices, and you will see what I mean. Or you could just look at autotrader.

Or am I missing something here. By the way, I bought my new 2006 350z Enthusiast Coupe, automatic transmission, for $25,600..

The OP is in Vancouver, British Columbia. That's in Canada...and our pricing is usually quite a bit higher than compared to the states because 1) the difference in the dollar, 2) Canadian cars are marked up more

The only difference in the numbers is, 6hp and 8 ft lbs. 06 model = 300 hp 260 ft lbs..... the 08 model has 306hp and 268 ft lbs.

Now the 03-04's have 287hp and 274 ft lbs of torque, if you do the math thats more powerful than the 05-06's. Also for a $300 mod to your plenum, you'll be at 300hp (03-04's) and a heck of a lot more torque. (i've also heard the torque-ier ones are a more fun ride, i have an 04 but never drove any other Z so i can't tell you 1st hand). I would look for a low milage 04 and have more power and a lower payment. Also you want more than just the base model Z, try for a performance model, or anything above that so that way you get the LSD. It will come in handy when you start adding power.

In Canada we here we only have the grand touring model, no base or track models etc.

Problem is I only want a White one, that makes finding this car very difficult because most used cars on sale are black and silver.

I am going to wait a little longer. After 2009 model comes out, hopefully cost of previous years will drop.

THANK YOU ALL for joining in this topic. It was good to know these things such as plenum.
