Im new to 240s and I want a rb25. It seems cheaper if i jus get a shell then order a rb. Is it a bad idea to go that route if dont have that much money?

It is the way to go IMO. But look for a compete shell with a blown motor. That way it hasn't been cherry picked for parts you may need. Plus you can sell the stuff you don't need.

Welcome! And to Answer your question, It would indeed be a bad Idea to try and do a rb25 swap with not very much money. If I were you find a shell and a ka24de and bam you got yourself a 240.Or try and find a cheap running 240sx around your area.Hope that helps you out!

We have vendors who making the wiring harnesses you need. But do it yourself, have fun with it. The parts for this swap are readily available.

At one time I asked a shop how much it would cost to do a sr swap and they wanted $1500. I decided to do it myself and I don't regret it at all. It was really fun and I learned a lot. Just be warned an RB swap is going to be expensive even if you do the work yourself, unless you cut a lot of corners.... Which I don't recommend.GL though..

When I did my swap I only had experience in oil changes, brakes, and standard parts changing. I just did a lot of research. I would take 1/4 of the money you would pay for someone else to do the swap and buy those little garages that are at lowes.

I wouldn't sugest doing a swap if you have no experience with 240s.Especially if you have no garage either. And an RB, and you don't have a lot of money to work with lol.Sorry just sayin.

But the easist route to go would be buying a shell and swapping in an rb rather then buying a car, pulling the engine, then swapping in the rb.

The only thing is you be missing a couple little parts here and there that the person removed when pulling the engine originally
