Buying a new 240sx s13 coupe (newbie)

Well i had a 240 but i had to sale it for school reasons, but now im planning to get a new one and it has about a 136 thousand miles on it. The guy is selling it for 3,500 $ and i was wondering if its a good price.

What year? Thats alot for an S13 but S14 thats not too bad...I hate it when people list the oil they use, check for rust-thats your major concern!

thats over priced. a s13 should never cost more than 3k unless it has a considerable amount of suspension and or engine mods. a s*** intake and header does not make the car worth 3.5k

to the OP, people will tell you its not worth it but it very well may be worth it, check to see whats up with the suspension (HOW its been lowered). look at the dipstick, is it crispy charred? smoke when it starts? look for rust everywhere, frame rails, where the doors meet the body, engine bay, hatch.take it for a ride and see if the trans. will hit all gears without grinding or being hungup.usual stuff youd look at.

no, just hold your ground, offer him 2400 and if he doesnt take it then walk away. he will come down off the price some eventually

unless you like to over pay for 240's, i can get you an s13 in the same condition with relatively the same mods for 2500 and under all day long. and yes thats completely rust free

here in tn, we get prob 3 new 240's posted every other day. but tn is infamous for having cheap rust free 240's i got lucky and picked up a 93 coupe with a 95 ka swap, running and rust free for 350 bucks. now you wont find a deal like that everyday, but you should be able to find roughly the same thing for 1500

Yea well i talked to him about the price and he laughed when i said 2800 so i dono. but the thing is in cali we have so many people who want this car that new posts get sold so quickly.

Well hes saying that it has a few dents like minor ones tat can be fixed without painting. But he says it has coilovers that were cut i dono wth that means i know a coilover system is but y would it be cut?

I would pass and just keep looking. I have done some horrible decisions in the past and I would hate to see someone buy a car just because they think they found one. Keep an eye out and I'm sure you'll find a decent deal
