Ok... I'm new to the G forums. I've been on the 240sx forums since I could drive. I've had 6 240sx's. So... I bought a 2003 G35 coupe that had everything but nav on Tues the 9th. It had 52,xxx miles, and I paid $15,600. I got it in Austin,TX drove it back to Dallas, and on the 10th, on my way in to work a lady in a KIA rear ended me going 40mph and totaled it. So her insurance is going to give me $20,000 , and now i'm looking at some '05's. Is this smart? I saw one that had 69k Fully loaded for 16,995 and another that had 38k for 19,900. Help please new to the car. Need to know what to look for.

Thanks 4 Reading, Clarke

Do what you would normally do when you are looking into new cars - make sure the upkeep was done well, see the warranty status, make sure there are no signs of abuse, make sure you trust the seller...etc. A G is going to be a very reliable car, provided that it was taken care of. If you can confirm that for any of those choices, you should be doing well!

Iv'e heard that there are differences in reliability in the '03, '04 engine and the '05, '06 engine. Is this True?

With the rev-up engines, theres a chance of the oil consumption problem.

Ok. So what's the Rev-UP engine? I'm only looking at getting a 6mt. Are these the ones with the rev up? Do you just have to add more oil more often?

wow you profited... i say find a good g35 in the same price range as your old one... use the extra money to fix or touch up what ever the new G needs (fluids, tires, timing belt, hoses, brakes/rotors, ect) and then add some modifications... but if you just want it stock get an 05 or newer...

Some use oil and some don't.I have one that does. At 70,000 miles mine uses a quart after 3000 miles.I just change the oil.My advice, open the hood & just check all your fluids once a week & you'll be fine.
