Hey guys, im pretty new here. Just got a few quick questions.....

The CA will be going in a 95 base model 240 5-speed. Im looking to make around 300 at the wheels. So heres my questions....

What a good turbo to use? I dont want it too laggy but a little lag is allright.

Any good top mount manifolds out there, i love the way they look.

How well would the stock motor hold up to the power, i dont need to rev to 9K or anything like that, just normal revving.

Thanx!

not totaly sure about this but here goes...fmic,boost,t28,bigger injectors, bigger MAF and you should be close to your goal. all really depends on the tunning. just give it some time and work on the tunning and you will hit your mark

STOP, JUST STOP. where is that tape I play at times like this, oh here it is.

These are used engines, in the case of the CA very used. As soon as the motor hits your garage floor completely rebuild it. You will get nothing unless you do this. They came stock with about 170hp over twelve years ago, the water pump is tired, rings weak, lifter sluggish etc. You beat on it and you will be on the side of the road in short order, put the work in before the motor goaes in or you will be pulling it back out in a month or so.

he doesn't have IM :D though i wish he did... try emailing him, he usually gets back to me within a day.

and yes, andrewdees... a rebuild is in order for most of these motors... no matter what the mileage they're still at LEAST 12 years old!

I have a stock one that's still going strong;) ! Am I just fortunate or am I doing something correct? I've visited 8500+rpm on many of revs and the little engine hasn't puked it's guts up yet and the rod bearings still look wonderful. Guess I got an engine that was built on a tuesday!

hey, my engine wasnt rebuilt and it runs like a swiss watch! of course, it has uber low miles (i love bragging about the mileage of my engine, cant you tell?) at only 23k when i got it (a little under 25k now).

i have got you beat boost boy, my dumba$$ friend (who will remain nameless) revved it to 9 grand the one time i let him drive it. of course it didnt make it back from this safely, turbo didnt make it out alive- the turbine hit the housing when he burned up my already gone bearings, the water pump sheared in half and went through the radiator, radiator ate my fan, the water pump pulley took chunks out of my crank pulley and the hole in the radiator covered the engine bay in coolant, forcing me to replace all the belts, some hoses, etc. and he wonders why i dont let him drive it. he didnt even help me put it back together! bastard. ...well, he gave me 10 bucks for gas once...

alright, that last post was kinda messed up, as he came to see what i was typing... word kinda got out about him being a reatrd, and not to let him drive their cars, etc. i just remembered that he DID more or less make it up to me though, got a free ski trip to big sky montana for all of spring break. its funny when he starts to talk about cars and people just turn and walk away, hehe.
