buying a 240

[92 Tercel]

Hi, i am new here. I just sold my 92 Tercel (really really slow) and started looking for a new ride i really like the 240SX and was wondering if someone could answer a couple of questions that I have.

First where i live I've seen a whole bunch of 89s that go for pretty cheap, from the reaserch that Ive done I understand that they are different than 91s is the engine the only difference? And which engine is better for aftermarket support? I know a lot of guys out there do swaps but chances are i'll stick to the stock engine and just build that as much as i can Also should I look for a 240 that has LSD or not worry about it? and how can i check that it actually does have it?

Any other tips would be highly apreciated thanks a lot for your help. I really can't wait to get a 240 thanx again.

well... around these parts...heh... they say that the better all-motor engine is the ka24e which is for the 89-90 240 and if your gonna go turbo then i guess its the ka24De which is for 91-93.

LSD's only came in some s14's i think... but i have an s13 so im not really sure. Most people here just go and rip'em out an infiniti at a junkyard anyway.

Some S13 had LSD i don't know about the exact model but i guess SE or LE have them as an option.

A LSD only came with cars that had the Super HICAS four wheel steering. By physically looking under the car at the rear, if it has a steering component then mostlikely the car has LSD as well. But if you live in Canada, all had LSD according to SCC May 02 issue

My 90 doesnt have LSD and I am in canada - as far as I know it is the 91+ that all have the LSD in Canada anyway...
