A friend of mine has a really nice condition 2002 Spec V, but it has the pre-cat failure. Burns about a quart of oil a week.

The car has been sitting for about a year, being started every once in a while. Its located about 500 miles from me, and wanted to see if you guys thought it would make the trip here if I stop a couple times to check/refill oil. Would cost me any where from $300-500 to have a friend tow it.

Getting the car for $950, body is good, no rust, interior is good and only other issue is it is going to need struts and a tire. I figure Ill drive it until the motor finally dies, then swap it (if Nissan wont change it under the recall, the VIN is a part of the recall, so Im hoping they will).

I have a 13 Altima V6 lease, so Im not worried about it being a daily running reliable car. Just something to work on the side for cheap.

That's funny, I'm selling my 3.5 coupe for a cheap Sentra DD. I thought about Sentra SE-Rs but quickly remembered that they all have that infamous pre-cat issue that might or might not have been taken care of, plus they're out of my price goal of $3k max...

For $950 if everything else looks and works good, I'd drop $950 for one I think. A new QR25DE can be found for $1000 plus install and new struts can be had for $500 a pair or less I bet.

I found a few motors on ebay for $600 shipped or so. Also, KYB struts all around for $225.

Ended up buying a 07 Xterra for now, and going to use it to tow the Sentra next month.
