This is an interesting little story that happened to me today, resulted in a bit of inconvenience but it could have been a lot worse.

So the last couple days we had some great weather.. I went to use the Q today and I put the window down, I heard a crunching sound... My drivers side window has always been kinda goofy since the day I bought the car, so I didnt really think about it.

So I get home and load my car up to leave... Window is still down... I get to driving, and I go to put the window up and it stops about halfway up.. I think BAD NEWS for my regulator, so I try and help it up, at which point the window falls into the door.... So I go home, get into my stash of spare parts, and replace the regulator in about 30 mins.

The point is, having a FULL PARTS STORE in your trunk/garage/attic/bedroom saves so much headache... This is the second time Ive had something fail on my Q in my 4 years of Q ownership.. First time was last summer with a MAF.. I thought it was the MAF, so I pulled my spare out and the problem was done and taken care of...

I had to take 30-45 mins out of my day to replace a broken regulator where in anyone elses case it would have taken days to get the parts in and then replace, and most likely a plastic bag on their window...

Visit our classifieds forum and $100 in strategically thought outparts will save you a lot of headache. One of hte nice things about Q45s is that parts are not in any sort of shortage and they are cheap and easy to get...

And long term, I would not expect the Yen to get any cheaper against the dollar, nor would I expect Nissan to suddenly discount G50 part's prices.

I still have a crapload of new Q parts sitting in my garage, so people aren't heeding Wes's advice!

Seconded.

I have $800 of odds and ends sitting in my garage. I haven't needed any of them, but I know that if I sold them, all my injectors would suddenly die.
