Ok, next year im going to purchase a car. im thinking of investing maximum $15000. im not sure what to buy. i like hondas, but they are mostly fwd, and nissan 240sx is kind of old. so im asking for your advise, will it be possible to purchase a nissan 240sx(or another alike model) for a fraction of the money, fixit up+mod for the other fraction, and drive it for at least 4-5 years?

also can you please proved me with estimates for a dicent 240sx, fixing it for the first time; and how much it will cost me to add extra stuff like turbochargers, air intakes, etc (wht else would you add?).

ps.: which engines whould be better(durable+stronger)? should i do a swap? how much will it cost?

The 240 game is done, homie. Get a '92-'99 Lexus SC300 and do a Soarer project.

I agree; I was thinking of buying a '97 240sx, but now I'm really toying with the idea on an SC. We'll see.

Bro for 15g's im sure you can make any car last you 4-5 years...and look nice...seriously. Its all up to you i guess. If i had 15g's to spend on my car ide be rollllin. You could get a s13 or s14 drop a new engine or build the previous one nice wheels paint suspension interior and other stuff and still have cash left over. Or buy a nice reliable newer car. Rx7's are the so nice my cousin has one. It all depends on what you want the car for i guess and how your going to drive it.

not a good investment.

If I had 15g's I'd buy 14g's worth of garage/tools and buy a $1,000 worth of random parts and make my own car.

just my .02 buy a car that has the engine you want already swaped. you can pick up a swapped 240 if u really want one for about 6 g's and build from there. i bought my zenki in 05 stock and started working from there and have about 25g's into it. but if you saw it you prob would say im full of sh1t. the only good thing about it is i know every thing that was done to it and how much it was beat...so but if i had 15 g's i know someone thats selling a r32 skyline with and rb26dett . if u can scramble up 5 more grand that would be sexxx!!!

Rhd 240sx, clean factory paint job, and a freshly re-built mild or even stock motor... sounds pretty sick to have

Why RHD? Sounds like paying a premium for something that has no use. As long as we are living in the US, LHD is the only way to go. Unless of course the DOT as some major changes coming that I don't know about...

with that much you can buy alot of decent or finished cars for close to that much if your paying cash i just had 12k and picked up a 240 a 95 for 8 and it has some flaws that need work but in parts the car is worth over 12k its your choice but you could get an rx7 with an ls1 you know its reliable maybe a skyline for a little more there are about a million choices its all personal preferance

370zs are nice, thats a downpayment tho lol. u could go lexus or infiniti..both are classy and have potential..you could buy a 95 or new with a blown ka motor, and do an ls1 swap or something similar...tons of options..240s are my way of life, and i will be loyal. i think since ive been on my own, ive only wanted 240s, aside from my truck thats all ive had is 240's..

do something to make you happy i guess

also, u want rear wheel drive ?

personally I would go for #4. enjoy while you are still young.

and seriously, since you are willing to invest serious money, why risk it with >10 year old car?

For 15,000 you could go with a Nissan S14 and fix it up for pretty well. Or you cloud go with a Honda S2K.. It is rear wheel and will last pretty long. If your lucky you could find one for about 12 or 13 thousand... Good Luck!

Maxima's are front wheel drive http://www.nissanusa.com/maxim....html. Is your price 15,000 Canadian? Also there are a lot of skylines in Canada that we here in the US drool over but can't get. I'm not sure how the registration laws work there but it seems like there are a lot more there than here.

As far as a 240 is concerned, if you do get one, go over it with a fine comb because these cars can become very expensive. If you want something newer, 350z's are coming down in price, there is always the STI and hell 15 grand isn't that far from M3 territory.
