This is a fish for honest opinions. Do you think it would be more practical to buy or build a SR or RB set up used, or considering that I only personally want a little over 200hp, should I just move on to something like the 2.0T Genesis or new AE-86 when they come out?

I don't think I'll not own a 240sx for the next.... well.... forever, but if I wanted a turbo or faster car, I keep thinking that it's a really tough decision. It seems, in my area, it's more expensive to get a full SR20DET setup buy doing it on your own than it is to just buy one used (roughly $3500-6000 over in the Atlanta area.)

Is there any advice on this matter? I'm looking at picking up another 240 so that I'm not trying to do this on my daily, much needed, driver. There is also the issue of whether or not, due to such low hp desires, to just stick with a Ka-t setup.

I have people who could help do pretty much any swap or mechanical work so I don't have to worry about labor. However, looking at the cost of the motor + turbo + FMIC (or similar) + Bov + Exhaust + anything I'm missing, it seems cheaper to just buy one already done. Am I really missing anything on this?

I know you run the risk of buying a problem, but it isn't exactly like the SRs, RBs, or KAs come new or anything anymore.

Anyway, thank you for what ever pointers you have.

Build a solid reliable KA-T powered 240 complete with suspension and wheels for around $10k or spend $30k on a newer, nicer, slower car. We can't really decide that for you.

If it were me, I'd build a 240 for a toy car and buy a larger car with more utility for daily use. I'm digging the AWD Honda Element right now...
