ok, so I know it's not exactly ka-t specific but I figured I'd post her sinceI'm turboing my ka here in a week or so. I was thinking of removing my butterfly valve and had a few questions about it. first is it worth it? second I know I'm gonna have to take off my fuel rail to do that, will I need new injector o-rings for that? if so what size are they for a 93? I went to autozone to check prices on them today and they have 2 different sizes. thirdly how rough will it make my idle? bad enough to make timing the engine hard? thanks in advance.

I haven't done it on mine, But have seen it, or rather been sitting in a car with it done. It idled fine.

To my knowledge you don't have to remove the rail from the intake, just the lines from the rail.

You'll have more people chime in this weekend. Most of out experience drops in then.

I have done it. Removed the whole rail and plugged the runner holes. IMO it didnt do much. I'm going to put them back in. BTW I have a JWT ECU Normally Aspiration.. I think it may help to have an S-AFC to compensate for the lack of low-rpm torque loss by leaning out the mixture a bit. Overall, not recommended.

Yeah I dont really think its worth it unless its in addition to a bunch of other stuff. I took mine out (with the entire mani off), but I only bothered because I already had the mani off and they were right there. I wouldnt take the mani off just to remove them though.

that's my intention. I'm going ka-t within a week or so. I've gotta take the mani off anyway so I figured I might as well take them out while I had it off. anyone have problems with hard cold starts?
