Hey,

I have a ca in my s13, did the swap back in october and love it!

i noticed about a week ago when changing my turbo lines that the butterfly vaccum
was never connected.

i t'ed it into the vacuum to see if anything (i dont have the solenoid or tank) to make it fully operational.

didnt really notice any differance. i was wondering do most of you still run the butterfly set up and how do you? what would be the benifits of running without it (if any)

check the stickies for how the butterfly valves work. this has been covered alot.

What you can do, but is not per factory but does work (i think), is hook the butterfly vacuum hose into the FPR vacuum hose. I removed mine to remove the clutter just because I knew I could never get it to work like factory.

Unless you can aquire all the parts to do it, you have these two choice:

1) plug it into the manifold or T it off the FPR
2) Remove the manifolds, remove the butterfly system and reinstall, enjoying your more simplicated intake manifold area.

This has been covered a few times in the past and people have their different opinions on it, but honestly, I like my engine bay clean and not full of clutter and thats what it was to me. I have had no issues without them and was still happy with the performance of the engine (other than the 15.8s 1/4 time haha)
