Busted tie rod brushings...

Both of my tie rod brushings are shot to the crapper. How long can I run on it and how long should I run on it..haha

Also what are the advantages to upgrading them if I do replace them? Recommendations?

You can run on it for a long time and shouldn't run on it for a long time. Upgrading gets you a better steering feel, safety, and depending on preference/how much you want to spend. You can get a better steering angle as well as adjustable tie rods to prevent bump steer if your car's lowered.
