My son just ran over something, pipe or something similar while parking in the school parking lot. It ripped a hole in the oil pan. I told him not to move the car, call AAA and have it towed to the Dealer. Can anyone tell me aprox how much this is going to cost. I am reading nightmare stories on the internet.

Fortunately on the altima, there isa 2 piece oil pan, a lower pan and an upper pan. The part number is 11110-5B600- PAN ASSY- OIL (lower)

I dont know about how much how it costs, but i dont think it will be too bad, i dont have my altima FSM handy... But my gut feeling is it wont be terrible..

As long as it didnt damage the front cover or anything like that, then your probably in the clear.

Thanks so much, I am waiting on a quote. Sounds like alot of labor though from what I have read . How many hours should I expect to pay for?

I checked the FSM and this looks REALLY simple, im thinking less than an hour, you could probably replace it yourself.

Heres a diagram, this looks really simple!!! id almost pick up the oil pan up and replace it in the parking lot

EDIT: this is all assuming that the upper oil pan is not damaged at all, just the lower part.
