So I need you guys to help me diagnose why my KA24E is being so silly.

I just replaced the fuel pump after discovering my "new" car has no fuel pressure. Done, lots of pressure.

But now, the engine won't start. It sputters and dies. I unplug the MAF. Engine starts up just fine, and runs into an almost fuel cut-off at 2500 RPM.

Definitely need a new MAF, right? A guy who used to work on Corvettes gave me the tip about unplugging the MAF, said that was how they used to diagnose them.

Yup he's right, and yea its your MAF, my friend is having the EXACT same symptoms as you, and everyone tells him to replace the MAFS. So do that first

Well of course you'd say that, since I just bought yours. Hopefully it does fix the problem though. Damn new old cars.

Good chance its your MAFS. But i'd suggest finding someone who'd let you borrow one to test before you buy. Either that or you might end up with an extra MAFS.

check the voltage and resistance of your mafs.

If it shows it's good then do the same to the mafs plugs on the harness.

if it's good then then do the same to the mafs port on the ecu.

if it's good, then your problem lies else where.
