i live in sacramento ca. i was wondering that if you were to get pulled over and the officer asked you to pop the hood and see's your rb what would happen, or what could you do. anyone have this happen to them?

RB was never sold in this country therefore TECHNICALLY it will never be emissions legal

if theres any doubt in the cop's mind that your car engine isn't stock, he'll give you a referee ticket. Hell, I've seen people get ref tickets for just having a cone filter on a stock ka.

2 words... Florida OWNZ

lol, sorry that I don't have any useful input on this.

However, I know of a fellow member in CA that had his hood popped and the officer looked at his "RB" and didn't even realize the motor not being factory. Hence it was a clean factory looking swap, RB25DET NEO with the cover. so pretty much stock looking. I think his name was Punge or something.

yah, my buddy got his hood popped (we live in CA fyi) and the cop didn't know **** about his rb20. He didn't have any fancy stickers, bling manifold or top mount turbo, so the cop thought it was factory because it said Nissan on it. Cop basically asked if he had a cat, he said yes, and he was off the hook.

Unfortunately, my other friend's with his SR got a ref ticket. The cop saw his fmic and told him that 2 radiators are unnecessary, thus giving him the ticket.

Word of advice, if your rockin a fmic, paint your fmic black, along with the piping. Chrome hotpipes and coldpipes are dead giveaways.

Move to Oklahoma. No emissions testing, cops RARELY give tickets for after market parts, instead they usually applaud them.Little to no cops on the highways. Only bad things are:1) It's Oklahoma!2) No drift events, yet.

Whats wrong with having two 2 "radiators"? It just cools the engine? I would have fought that. Thank god down here in CT cops don't pop your hoods nor do they take out their little ruler and measure your car (i find that hilarious). Just damn cat thats all but its easy to pass.

i live in rural NE Oregon.. i've never heard of anybody getting tickets for non-stock parts...ever. no emissions testing (i dont have a cat on my civic). there are lots of tight, twisted roads to learn better driving on, and drifting events every other weekend a couple hours away... i'll prolly be moving to Seattle area in a few years to finish up college though

What are you talking about, it doesn't snow in florida= no salt on road= no rust. my S14 doesn't have any rust on it and it's been in florida it's whole life. No emission laws either, so florida is the ****.

In my town Turbo tC's are flying around everywhere with huge silver front mount intercoolers so I assumed I would be ok, but I caught wind of my town's cops are cracking down on modified cars because of turbonetics tC infestation.

I ordered a Black FMIC about two weeks back, and painted almost all of my piping already but is what all those STI kids say true about painting your intercooler?most claim they can "feel" the power difference but recently talking to my mechanic he says the paint would interfere so minute that the driver shouldnt notice anything different.
