Duh!

His plan was successful, we're seeing a reduction in violence, so he is scaling things down as planned.

I don't see what this has to do with the man waking up this morning

Paring down Iraq and moving troops to Afghanistan. What does this have to do with being metaphorically awake or asleep?

At telco's age, ANY day you wake up is cause for celebration.

Sorry brother - HAD to do it.

p.s. This is a perfect example of taking a positive and spinning it into a negative... Just like the housing market correction, gas prices dropping, unemployment decreases and the return of economic stability.

He wanted to fight in the civil war, but by the mid 1800s he was already 96 years old, so in his senility he got confused and invaded Canada. The Canadians took pity, gave him french fries and gravy, and sent him home.

Moving a large number of troops into Afghanistan should have occurred immediately after 9/11

Bush was asleep to the obvious with his dreams of WMD in Iraq.

I don't have enough time to list them all, but your first post highlights one of them...

We have made progress in the middle east. Thousands of years of unrest, and we have begun to make a difference. Obama wants to erase this progress & return us to the days of 9/11.

Exceptional!

If I'm ever up that way, we should go waste some ammo - Although I support the right to bear arms, I am not "gun guy"... in fact, I know very little about firearms.

That statement makes no sense. We went to Afghanistan right after 9/11. A large number of troops from mostly the UK and US moved into Afghanistan, and the Taliban was removed from power.
