Hussain's got it right though. Engage your e-brake then give 'em hell! I don't even dump the clutch...it's a smooth (but quick) transition. The thing I tend to do is to yank the e-brake a split second after you feel your tires breaking traction. You'll notice in the vid how my car makes a small lurch forward, right? That's precisely why.
If I can do it in my 2.5, then you 3.5ers shouldn't have any problems whatsoever!
Also, just in case anyone didn't read my description in the vid, I really don't condone this kind of model citizen behavior on a regular basis. My old winter tires (Hankook Icebear W400...turds) were in desperate need of replacing so I thought it might be fun to have them go out with a bang. Well, if not a bang, then a bit 'o smoke...
I've never shifted to 2nd before...don't think it's really all that necessary. You should have more than enough power in 1st gear to keep the front tires spinning and the rears locked. Just keep an eye on your RPMs and you'll be fine.blackteam02 wrote:so, ebrake, then floor it huh...so would one have to shift to second during the burnout or just keep from redlining in 1st???
You, sir, are awesome. If you're ever out west, I have to buy you a beer. Maybe five.QR25DE wrote:

pull ebrake up, high rev, an 'drop' the clutch. the car will lunge a tad bit up, but thats expected, the goal is to make the wheels have no friction on start up or u'll kill ur axle w/ grip lol an the car will pull.
thats all there is too it. lol
u dnt want to redline either- cus thts not good to stay at a high rpm- so once u get the wheels goin, just hover it at a high rpm, but not too high- u'll know the feeling- and countersteer exactly like ESP did so u dnt start goin to the power wheel side lol.
on a side note- if ur parrellel parked- an u have no room to maneuver around the douche in front of u, turn ur wheel to the outside, drop clutch an watch as front of the car just slides perfectly sideways :P
It's when you've got your clutch in and your RPMs up high...and you quickly let your foot off the clutch. This usually results in at least some tire squealage!blackteam02 wrote:what the hell is dropping the clutch?!?!?!
ya sort of like ESP said. drop the clutch just means to take your foot off the clutch right away, just drop it.... imagine someone handing you something hella hot and it burns your hands, just drop it fast, let go of it fast.... so dropping the clutch is just dropping it quick, letting off the clutch pedal quickly.blackteam02 wrote:what the hell is dropping the clutch?!?!?!
