OK, this may not be the most appropriate place to post this, but every in here is so helpful and there isn't a forum for my engine, so I figured I may as well.

This is for my DD, a 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX XE. It has an E16i engine in it. I rebuilt the motor recently (got it running in April) and have put a little over 7000 miles on it so far. I go through about a quart every 500 miles and I really worries me. Everything on the motor is new just about. New oil and water pump, head bolts, timing belt and tensioner, all seals and gaskets, right down to the thermostat, oil pressure and temperature switches, and the PCV valve (the one thing that may have had something to do with this. It's bored 0.020" over (fresh bore, it was stock before I rebuilt it). I like to think I broke it in properly. I didn't wind it up like crazy, but I gave it a lot of gas, mostly between 2500 and 3500 rpm since that's where it's most driveable and makes the most torque (So there should've been the most cylinder pressure to seat the rings?) and rev matching and engine braking as much as I could. I never really cruised, if I had to drive steady I'd floor it and gain 5-10mph and back completely off and drop 5-10 mph continually. I have about 175 psi + or - 5 psi in all cylinders (that may be on the low side as I actually haven't done a compression test at operating temperature, but the throttle was wide open). All the spark plugs look perfect. It doesn't smoke at idle, if you free rev it, or hold it revved to 2500rpm for about 30 seconds then let off, but my friend told me the other day when he was driving behind me it'd smoke when I got on the gas with a load.

The head has been rebuilt, but it was rebuilt 7000 miles before the motor rebuild when I had a head gasket blow. (my stepdad threw out the possibility of a valve guide seal, regardless of the head being fairly fresh)

Externally the motor has headers, a gutted cat, every vacuum line I could remove and still keep it running has been removed, the carbon canister is gone, EGR deleted, air box is chopped, breather filter on the nipple on the valve cover that use to go to the air box. I haven't noticed any leaks anywhere other than from my transmission.

Sounds like blowby. Get a catch can hooked up between the manifold and the valve cover. See if it fills. You could also pull the intake manifold and see if it's oily inside. If it's blowby, you've got something wrong with the rings.
