Well...a burning smell by it's very nature isn't desirable in your car.........

If you were feathering your clutch as you floored it trying to get through the light, that might account for your burning smell. That's the first thing that comes to my mind...

it says you have on 09 model which means it might be new.. did you break it in yet? or is it still very low mileage?

Burning smell. That could be anything from a fluid leak/burnoff to your tires rubbing against the wheel well, to your clutch. Your gonna have to be more specific with your scenario.

when i first got my 2.5 i had that same smell when i would get out of the car after doing a time attack to the supermarket.i think it might be the engine breaking in to the brake padsnow i only get it when i peel out so it makes me think it was the tires but any type of rubber smells the same. my recomedation is to check under hood for anything melted

i've noticed when i race home using the manual shift mode and i park at home i notice a burning smell. could be the oil from what my friend always tells me but iono. i've noticed a burning smell only when i use the manual shift mode and kind of rev high.

Did you just recently installed Nismo catback? You'll get that burning plastic smell for the first few hundred miles.

^^^well as for it being new, i didn't rly notice any smell with my car but i tried not to overdo it when i got it. i mean its still pretty new anyway. but if you have CVT, right next to the D on the shifter, u move the stick over to the left and it puts it in the tiptronic mode or watever where u can manually shift gears 1 to 6. i've noticed that on my moms Camry when i shift 1-3 and then to D.

Every Nissan I have owned emits a "burning" or as I call it "Carbon" smell after driving aggressively, Next time you smell it take a look at your tailpipes, I'll bet they are covered with "soot"....Don't know why but seems as if Nissans run too rich

That'd be my guess, It was a beotch keeping my Borla Cat-back Exahusst Clean on both my 350Z and Titan. A little wax made the clean-up easier.
