Burning smell after hilly driving.

I was on my way skiing a few days ago driving up to the mountain. it was about a 30 minute trip and very hilly. i noticed a burning smell when i finally arrived. im guessing it was from all the stress on the transmission with all the hills? can anyone confirm?

i just changed the oil/oil filter and fuel filter prior to taking trip

What color is your transmission fluid? Does it smell burnt?

As for color when i checked it about a month ago it was red...verified by my father because im colorblind. I will check in the morning for color and smell again
