Yeah, the other day I replaced my old brake pads with some Autozone replacements bc Prostreetonline failed to ship me my EBC's on time. Anyway, the install went very easy and routine, but once I started driving the car I smelt something burning coming from the rear. Turns out the brake pads on the rear driver side are rubbing really bad on my new rotors. I've searched and saw some stuff like grease the caliper pins and check to see if your e-brake is engaged. Could it be that I'm not running shims? Could the driver's side rear caliper be worn out?any suggestions will be helpful

Well did you do a brake job or just take out the old pads and put in the new? Could also be they gave the wrong pads are they the same size, shape, etc. as the old one?

yeah, they are the correct size bc the other side is functioning perfectly. I think I'm going to go pull the wheel off and see what is going on with the caliper.

I was having the same problem with some Wearever pads. Lots of dust and a burning smell in the rear passenger tire. Then my master cylinder went out and I replaced it. I think thats what my problem was but I don't know yet because the motor started to go out. Being proactive about these things I ended up pulling the motor and having it *cough* upgrayedded. Haven't really had time to put the damn thing back in yet.

you might try taking the little rubber line that goes to your break capapear and take it off and see if you can blow through it sometimes them things build stuff up on the inside and after you push on the break it dont wanna release the presure

You take it off, then you have to bleed the brakes also. I would suggest making sure the pins are well lubricated, the piston pushes all the way in (To tell if it's not seizing), clean/lubricate the retainer (Where the top and bottom of the pads sit) and the back of the pads as well. That should help clear up lubrication issues. Btw all that 'lubricating' is done with the caliper grease.

Anything after that I would think it's a caliper or line problem.
