Good morning guys had a quick question for the experts. Cylinder 5 and 3 burnt both plugs out melted off the tip and broke the porcelain. This is the second time this has happened same Cylinders. Wondering what might be causing this. I am getting an A/F ratio gauge installed next week to make sure I'm not running lean on top end as this seems to be happening only on highway pulls. What are other things to check for......as always thank you for the help!!!!!!

My guess would be detonation especially if you say melted tip and broken porcelain. Hope nothing was left in the cylinder.
I asked in your last post, “ did z1 give you a old style 555 tune or new style 555 tune?” They are slightly diff 555 vs 615.
May not be the main issue but can contribute to a leaner condition. What boost, fuel and plugs are you running?

I spoke with them and they said it was for the old style 555s.....if its running lean I will have to get a custom tune

That is a colder plug should help. Lots of things can cause detonation, have you confirmed that your mechanical timing is at 15 deg with a timing light.

Definitely plan on that before doing any more unmonitored "highway pulls."

Always best to tune in a controlled environment (dyno).
