Hi everyone, this is my first post. i have searched the forum and cant really find this issue. Basically after driving my 91 JDM Silvia k's and driving it a bit hard right before i got to my destination i begin to smell a STRONG burning smell inside the car, to the point where im looking to see where theres smoke. it occurs right after hitting full boost (.5 bar). I cant find any smoke coming from the exhaust or under the hood, water temp is normal, there seems to be no power loss, and boost reading is normal no drops and still hits full boost and oil level is same as always) the only thing i notice is that the metal pipe that goes up from the turbo (stock t25) and is not connected to anything just vented into the air, the previous owner had coverd that pipe at the end with some aluminum foil. now it had blown away, there is no smoke comming from here or anything just air. (what is this pipe anyways, yes this is my first sr20det) im thinking this is where the smell is comming from? i hope its not the clutch but it could be even though i cant feel any slippage. ok i hope this is not a big deal, and thanks for any help, glad to be part of the forum.

ok here is my baby

like i mentioned the issue might come from this tube comming from the turbo. it is circled in white next to the arrow,

it used to be coverd in foil, now it blew off. could the buring smell come from the wiring getting toasty next to the headers? i checked and some of the insulating tape used had unwrapped and gotten really close to the headers. oh also the smell is comming from the heater/AC vents inside the car. Thanks hope the pics help.!!!

quick update: went out for a quick test and the smell is not just from vents, since i closed them and the smell was still strong, also there is a slight squeal from the turbo when it spools up but goes away once there is full boost.

thats an egr tube. the air you feel is exhaust. cut that off close to the fitting at the turbo elbow and weld it shut.
