burning oil or running rich? PLEASE help!!

I know this might be a stupid question but keep in mind im just a stupid girl lol haha anyways my car has a little bit of white smoke come out at times and someone told me it was running rich while someone else said that was when it was burning oil?? can anyone clear this up for me and give suggestions on how to fix??? ANY help would be appreciated!

you may have a bad headgasket and i guess its coolant thats gettin burnt, could also be oil but oil burns blue, coolant burns white and too much fuel burns black.susgestion to fix.....replace headgasket.

get somebody to do a compression test and a leakdown test first though.

i had the same problem once b4 (not with a 240) when the engine was getting hot and i press the gas some major white smoke was coming out of the tail. basically the emgine was not happy with the new oil i had put in there and a change a thicker oil fixed the problem. again what worked for me may not work for you or anyone else in that matter , but chage to a thicker oil 20w50, and see what happens, it is the cheapest of the solutions.if that does not work then follow what theone advised.

If you have white smoke, that's coolant. I would check my entire cooling system, after I checked the headgasket.

i get a tiny bit of it when my car idles a while... its my turbo tho im sure.
