I have searched extensively and havent found anything that could be causing my problem. My car doesnt seem to smoke while running down hte road, or even on startup, but it lets out oa huge poof of smoke when i take off at a stoplight after idling. It only happens than the motor idles for around 25+ seconds, and lets the poof out as soon as i put the engine under a load (let the clutch out). Also, if i idle for a loooong time it will start to smoke at idle, and then let a huge amount of smoke out when i take off, but then clear up immediatly.

Compression is 140 on all 4. PCV is new (who designed that pain in the tail anyway?).

The only thing that i can assume, is that it is the valve guide seals.....but....it should smoke at startup if it was the guide seals...

Waht do you guys think?

can you handle valve seals in your driveway or garage? if so, i would just slap in a set and see if that fixes it. they are not expensive or terribly hard to replace on a sohc motor. if you have a de then its a little tougher. you could try the back to back wet and dry compression tests to see if you need rings.

you can take it to a meachanic shop to do a leak down test that well test your valve seal .
