This past week I have been noticing that my clutch has been burning almost every time I drive it. I can even smell it while cruising on the highway sometimes. Also I have noticed it slipping when I really get on it when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I have had the clutch for about 10 months and it seems a littel too soon for it to start going out, and I do not rest my foot on the pedal or ride the clutch. I have an SR20DET making about 250whp and 240ftlbs of tq. The clutch is an ACT. Any ideas would be helpful.

You install it correctly? Made sure it was all lined up right? Break it in correctly?

try shifting from like 1 or 2 all the way to 5th. You will know if there is a problem, otherwise you'll start to bog down real quick. 10 month old clutch shouldn't do that unless it was badly abused, which it doesn't sound like is the case.

Well, I did not do the install, I had a local shop do it. So I assume it was done right? Also I broke it in for about 600 miles. bcar240, I will try that whole shifting from 1st to 5th. Are there any other reasons why it would be burning?

Oil contamination, like me.

Check the bottom of the bellhousing on the trans, you'll see oil dripping... Otherwise, learn how to drive j/k
