I bought a 06 350z touring model a few months ago I absolutely love it. It has monster after market stereo system, which may be my problem. I have had no problems until I tried to start it other day and heard a pop. Looked under the hood checked battery and find that the cable that is attached to the fusible link has a whole burned in it, it even burned a small whole in my fuse box. I would appreciate some advice as to what this cable is called and what could have caused this and maybe some advice on a fix, price tag etc. Thanks for any help.

sounds like something is causing your cables to arch...I would trace each and every power wire to ensure nothing is shorting out to ground.

what kind of fuse (breaker) does you audio system have for protection.

to be safe, you may have to remove that awesome system to save the car.

Voodoo warrior series fuse. I neglected to mention that this car also has custom LED lighting system. One big tube in back two under the driver and passenger feet, though I never use it. After looking around reading manuals I am guessing wire harness is the object that is burned. Anyone verify that? If so is it possible to replace just part of the harness or am I SOL?

We can't verify if the harness burned. You are the one with the car.

Was your radio and LEDs on when you tried to start your car when you heard the pop and noticed the hole in your fuse box?

Was it the fuse box inside the car or under the hood?

A fuse is a fuse, no matter whose name is on it. So, I guess it isn't a breaker.

The cable I am pointing to in this illustration is one that is burned. I am just tryin to find out what exactly it is. The fuse box next to it under the hood. Yeah radio was on but not the lights. Thanks for the help.
