hello people

i just felt like posting this pic of my recently burned ecu. Do you guys think i can fix this with some solder or something? or should i take it to a electronics shop?

Is this a common thing?

thanks for any input, help, and advice.

btw, my engine control fuse kept blowing prior to this.

ok, as im looking at wiring pinout for the ecu i find that this burnt section has to do with pin 47 (according to a 200sx FSM) which leads to the F1 plug and it's colored G/Y L according to the schematic.

..or according to http://sr20det.nismo.org/srtech.htm it shows that its pin 36 which is - IGN (ignition ON, from ignition switch) - Black Red

keep in mind my ecu is a #63 model.

so does this mean if this ecu got burned by a short somewhere, i should just follow this wire and make sure it's not exposed anywhere? Am I right on this? or should i be checking elsewhere? I'm so in the dark when it comes to electrical issues, i just want to make sure i can get help from someone with experience in this type of situation before i waste any time or mess up something else.

That trace on the board still looks in tact just looks like it got hot. I would be more concerned with possible damaged components in there. What ever that wire goes to is drawing way to many amps or as you said the wire is shorted somewhere. its likely that ECM is toast.
