so i manage to fumble my way through and get the shifter out in order to put in the shortshifter i ordered from some guy on 3zc .. uhh.. wait a sec, shouldn't it be shorter than the stock one? and there's a piece missing from the bottom ring,.. and the retainer ring around the balljoint is busted, wtf..

Image

ok, well that's a piss off, what a waste of time and money, so i put it all back together again, and .. oh nice.. it's upsidefkingdown..

Image

*grrrr* tore it all apart again and fixed it and put it back again..

silver lining: while it was apart i fixed the doubledin dvd player and the oem digital clock .. still a piss off though

Thats a short throw... it just has a longer lower arm or whatever to reduce throw distance...

Did you compare the distances between the pivot ball and bushing?

i cant' compare anything, there's a piece missing from the bottom, the one i took out has a cylinder that a bolt goes through, the new one is just a big open hole..

either way there's a piece busted that i'm pretty sure is important, maybe there's a trick to getting that retainer ring onto the plastic that surrounds the balljoint, cuz i cant' figure it out

The brass colored sleeve should just pry out in two halves. I believe it is just a place for the bolt to mash against rather than sinking into the rubber. But the broken part is a def downer
