ok....gotta a bunch of newbie turbo questions.....i'm finally getting a chance to turbo my KA, but i'd feel uneasy if i didn't ask these questions first...

first off, what are the stock KA interals good up to (boost)

i do plan on rebuilding the engine and wanted to know what a good set of forged pistons and connecting rods were (want to be able to upgrade to somewhere around 15-18 psi)....price is not an issue, but realiability is....

and last but not least...would u recommend a rebuild before of after the turbo is on (i'm only shooting for about 5 - 7 psi right now and upgrade the turbo later as i get more $$)

thanks for listenin to the noob questions:D

No, you'll be fine at low boost...but do a compression test!!!

350 hp with good gas and careful tuning

http://www.ka24de.com or http://www.raceeng.com have good rod and piston sets for the ka24de or you could email me.

If I was going to build the motor I'd do it before the turbo, for all your know you will slap the turbo on, send a rod through the block and then have to start all over again.

If you dont tune it carefully even 4 psi will destroy your (stock) pistons very quickly. Tuning is all-important. Perfect tuning will allow you to hit pretty high levels as mentioned above.

also, 5-7psi isnt exactly small. I would venture to say its pretty much the norm.

if you are detonating it doesn't matter which pistons you get, you are gonna blow stuff up. 4 psi with 600 dollar JE pistons and detonation is still gonna crack things
