I hate the idea of getting rid of my bumper support when using a front mount. I am nervous about not having the support up front if I were to get into an accident. Has anyone modified the support to work while using a front mount? I don't really see the resoning to hacking the bumper support away because it would lose all of its support properties. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

i left mine in but im only using a 6x3x32 core though, so it didnt bother it. but on my buddys s14 the only way to make it fit was to remove the support or cut it. us being the lazy type we are, we took it out. i looks fine though. but really its called a 5mph bumper and i can tell you from experence anymore than that it doesnt matter anyway.

I had to cope out the bumper support a bit to fit my front mount. The bumper support is a curve and the front mount is a rectangular, so its like fitting a square peg in a round hole.

At the corners, the most I took out was 1". I welded it back up solid, and replaced any steel I removed with .25".

In the end, the bumper support is a little smaller, but now has 3" of aluminum intercooler backing it up. If I get in an accident the intercooler is finished anyways.

ya, I guess i'll just leave it out. I guess if I get in an accident than my bumper support will be the last thing to worry about. Maybe if I do get in an accident, insurance will total the car out and I can get another one.

thanks guys.
