AFTER LOWERING MY VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT IN THE INSTRUCTIONS IT SAID TO CUT SOME OFF THE BUMPER STOPS. WAS WONDERING IF THAT WAS REALLY NECESSARY?

I have springs installed (eibachs) on mine I did not buy them new, so i did not have instruction's. I did not cut any thing its been about a month no issue only fun. What springs do you have? Any pics after lowering? Do you like the handling?

I bought the tanabes and like you its been nothing but fun. But i was planning on taking a trip next week and she will be loaded down pretty good. As for pics I havent figured out how to post them yet. Anthony 870 is coming by later in the week to help with that so I will get them out there asap. Thanks for the quick reply!

Install was easy (thanks to the videos) though it took me a little longer because i didnt take out my original camber bolts. I marked the position of the strut, took out the wholr assembly then reinstalled. I had the alignment checked anyway and it was dead on as I had had it align a couple months earlier.

It is not necessary but with lowering springs, your suspension will hit the stops easier than with OEM springs. You will have less travel in your struts / shocks.

Manny - You are too funny - I am finding the handling and comfort much improved with the new Tanabes. I even went out of my way to hit some potholes, and everything seems fine. As you know, I wimped out and bought 205/50 17s because of the issues that you had raised with your low profiles. It seems like your experiences are a little extreme though. Are you sure it is just the tires?

I know it seems hard to believe. The only reason I blame the tires is because, I put my rims and tires (as you know 40 profile) and felt every bump . That was with the stock height after lowering, felt the same as far as bumps. On the other hand handling is a wonderful experience the tire and lowering combo reminds me of the fun I use to have in my 240sx. Every time i see a hard turn coming I smile :chuckle: . When I see snow the conti's will go back on and Ill update me feelings.

Shouldn't it be bump stops?
