Altima Coupe Bumper Removal

Step One: Gather your tools. You will need a Phillips and a small flat-head screwdriver.

Step Two: Open Hood. There will be 8 clips on the top of the bumper.

Step Three: Remove Clips. Use the flat-head to gentley pry up the clip's center piece to where you can grab it

with your fingers. Then, pull clip out of bumper and place in a safe location. The two center clips will be

smaller than the 6 main clips.

Step Four: Remove bottom screws. Underneath the bumper, there are 6 Phillips head black screws. Unscrew them and

place in a safe location.

Step Five: Remove wheel-well screws. There is one screw in the wheel-well on each side of the bumper. Using the

Phillips screwdriver, remove them by gently prying back the wheel-well plastic sheilding and unscrewing. Place in

a safe location.

Step Six: With the help of an assistant, remove the bumper from the body by pulling towards the front and away

from the car. Place bumper in safe location.

Reattachment is in the reverse order of removal.

Ballast Installation

Ballast installation I believe is more a personal choice. I chose to attach to a bumper support under the driver's

side headlamp and to a support in the engine compartment. Here are a couple of pics showing the placement.

Its going to be added to our How-To Article section of the site and there will be a link to all of them within the Altima Forum Table of Contents thread.

I can't sticky every How-To I like organization (aka I'm a neat freak).

I'm so glad you guys like the guide and have totally ignored that my car was dirty that day. LOL. I was actually worried that was something that people would notice. Don't worry, it's clean now. Thank you guys for the praise and I hope this really does help those who need/want to remove their bumpers for whatever project comes their way.

I've actually seen quite a few in the LA area. Probably most of them aren't on the boards though.

Well I live around the Mills off of Milliken and Fourth. If you've been in that area then most likely you've seen me. Or maybe on the 10 going west in the morning. I've seen only 1 other A/C around and it's a person who lives in the same complex. It's a darkslate 3.5 (I know cuz it's not debadged). Whenever I see it, I wonder if they've seen mine and have gotten any ideas. It would be awesome if I was the trendsetter around here. LOL.

Leif,

Did you happen to notice if there were fog light wiring harnesses any where while you had the bumper off?

Great job!

No I didn't. Didn't even think of looking. When we were doing the headlights, my friend and I were just focused on not screwing that up. LOL. I kinda wanna take the bumper off real fast to check... I figure it'll only take me 10 min to take it off, check, and then put it back on so maybe this weekend I'll check. If there is (and remember, mine is a base 2.5, no packages at all) then I might order myself some foggies and a new stalk too if cashflow allows.

Yeah--I don't know if you've been following all the threads, but I already have my stock fogs and stalk. (wanted a clean factory look w/o having to upgrade all the packages)Pulled some pins, unscrewed some screws, removed RF wheel, and peaked the best I could and didn't see any extra wiring.
