Hi Guys,

Anyone parting out a 94,95,96 with a pair of these aftermarket front Tokicos?

I had a reply that the 90-03 HU2892 could possibly fit with altercations, some said they were 2mm in difference I think at the base. What exactly would I need to do to get them to fit.

Thanks much!

Peter B.

HU2892's fit the rear on 90-93 and 94-96's. The HU2890 is for the front on the 90-93 and HU2890A is for the front on 94-96. That's just going from the Tokico catalog. I'm not sure what the differences in the shocks actually are, but I can find out.

Just got off the phone with our Tokico tech guy. He said the the 2890A is most likely going to have a larger bottom bolt hole than the 2890. Meaning the 2890 bottom mounting hole would probably need to be bored out to fit a 94-96 vehicle. But that's not verified, just speculated off the part numbers.

not sure 'boring out' is viable, given you would be destroying the rubber part of the mount.
Maybe press out the lower bushing from the 2890A and press in a generic replacement (do they exist?) for a 94-96?
or maybe swap 'in' the kingpin from a 90-93 (has the narrower mounting stud) and run the 2890?

until I'm done with the site where you can easily buy the shock/strut+assembly online, you could send in your old assembly and get a generous discount on all 4's with more than 15 different types of shocks to choose from all designed for the Q.....
