I'm going to miss him.

I'm sure we'll get the real story soon on The Howard Stern show where most people who get fired tell their stories without censorship.

Maybe Oberman and Franken can revive Air America? I hear the boy scouts had a pretty good year, should be plenty of funding available now

I gotta say this, and Howie will probably run around with his hand down the front of his pants the rest of the day... ;)

I can't stand Howard Stern's show. Frankly, it bores me, it's not intellectually stimulating, and on top of that, a NY /NJ accent makes me nauseous.

HOWEVER...

I watched his interview the other night on CNN with Piers Morgan and loved it. Damn, why can't he be that engaging on the radio? He's clearly intelligent, and amazingly "real". Well done, Mr. Stern - I still won't tune in on XM, but I don't dislike you any longer.

air america sucked because the democrats dont play fear politics. im not going to tune in to listen to those gas bags talk about protesting the war, or a vegan sit in. id much rather listen to how the gays are raping jesus, and spreading HIV to all the churches. AND NAZIS, SOCIALISM, ACORN, OBAMMUNISTS, FASCISTS, AND THE CONSTITUTION.

which sounds more interesting to you? who is more likely to get AD money?

I'm a firm believer that liberals don't need radio cheerleaders. Thus, Air America failed. Libs have the internet.

...and reality.

I kid.

Not really.

Yeah, really.

People who listen to the radio are usually a bit more intellectual, not consumed with having to see moving pictures to stay engaged. That caliber of person typically isnt interested in progressive banter...

Is there any evidence for this? :gotme My understanding is that people listen to the radio because they are bored while driving or sitting at their desk.

I've been listening to both sides of talk radio since 2005. Started with Air America in AZ any time I was in the car, and transitioned to AM 570 here in WA until they shut down. From experience, it would be hard for me to say which side is more intellectual. Radio tends to be propaganda-driven nonsense for the most part, at least from what I've heard of it.

Social news sites and forums are where I find the largest crowds of intellectuals. :bigthumb:

This is a confusing sentence... Those who drive are retarded? lol j/k

It's almost too painful to endure the lineup of ignoramus hosts on conservative radio. Sometimes I feel like it's my civic duty to understand both sides of the aisle, though.

More and more, Matt, I'm coming to the conclusion that most everybody else who drives is retarded. ;)

I understand both sides of the aisle, but I don't do it by listening to Conservative talk radio, or to Glenn Beck. Mostly, I do it from talking to smart Conservatives. Yes, Telco, they exist, like the rare breed of white guy surviving in the NBA.

Current is on my Comcast cable system channel 107
My TIVO is awaiting his start date.

Keith Olberman will do for Current TV what Howard Stern did for Sirius XM

Bring a huge number of viewers along with the freedom to call out The Worst Person in the World each night as he did on MSNBC until their misguided management tried to silence him. Palin/Bachman watch out. Keith is coming back.

The Daily Kos is not my idea of objective news ... so not worth reading at all. If it were a printed newspaper, I might consider it on par with toilet paper perhaps. :tisk:
telcoman wrote:Wondering why the edit post no longer works here?
Hmmm ... what do you see as no longer working? There is a time limit to how long you can edit you posts, as far as I know ... after that point, you cannot edit old posts.

Is that what you meant, or are you unable to edit any of your posts at all right after you submit.
telcoman wrote:Could this failure be a part of a right wing conspiracy?
Nah! It is due to Global Warming ... isn't that obvious from the sites you seem to like? :lolling:

Howie, I'm sure people like you and Olberputz would LOVE a "permanent edit button".

Say what you mean (and say it correctly) in the first place, and you'll have no need to edit your posts. Continuous editing is for the weak-minded and mentally-deficient.

So I guess you are not going to fix it?

What has the republican house majority accomplished so far.

Other than opposing abortion they have done nothing towards smaller government, and eliminating pork for the rich. As for spending they only want to reduce it as it affects the poor and middle class. I guess that way they can give more and bigger tax cuts to the rich.
They do however want access to everyone's bedroom and doctor's office. I wonder if any tea party people are adopting any unwanted babies?
As for jobs they want to kill expanding rail service to keep more people out of work.
Boy they really know how to run the party.
A few more years of this party and millions will be in the street here.
As soon as Olberman returns perhaps a few more embarrased replublicans will call it quits.
