So tuesday on my way to school, a pothole claimed two of my wheels. TN has already heard from me. They sent me the claim forms, I just have to get two estimates. They will reimburse me since i have proof. Yay for the blackberry, it saved the dayand i found these wheels on CL for $300. they look pretty good. i was surprised

now does that scenario work in every state? you can just submit a claim if ur car gets damaged due to faulty roads?

i dont know. I was kind of in luck as a cop pulled up right after it happened. like literally 2 minutes later. he saw my wheels, and the pothole. Im trying to get in touch with him, so he can vouch for the accident

Oh God. That makes me nervous seeing that. Chicago sucks with potholes because there are so damn many of them, and with winter creeping in and out here, I better watch where I drive.

Potholes, I hate you.

OUCH. Glad to hear the state's owning up, though.

I've had a few scary run ins in the past few months. I-15 is seeing major construction and lanes are very narrow. With the narrow lanes + snow, when a pothole happens, it is quickly filled, and poorly. Usually they are OVERfilled, which is worse than the pothole. On 4 or 5 occasions this winter I've found myself regularly having to remember to avoid a certain lane at a certain spot so I wouldn't nail a pile of asphalt. Twice I've ended up hitting so hard I pulled off to the side at the next available spot (sometimes quite a distance with the construction zones) to check for damage. Fortunately nothing so far, but it really isn't an acceptable situation in my book.

by no means should drivers have to deal with this BS. Isnt that what we bay state and county wheel taxes for? to pay for the roads we drive on
