Hey guys,

I am heading toward the 24deT route soon and I will like to bulletproof my motor to make sure it can handle the output of the turbo.

So here is were I need your help. What bearings, seals, gaskets and other things should I do to make the motor stronger. I already have plans for the following.

Head gasketValve Gasket Piston and oil rings.

What else should I do while the motor is apart ?

BTW its going into a 95 240sx with 95,000 miles

Thanks in advance guys/girls

I've heard really good things about either clevite or oem nissan bearings. For the gasket set the route I'm going is an oem gasket set from pinnacle nissan. It's close to $130. If you have the money you should shell out for some rods from either pauter or crower. Also since you have 95,000, the oil pump should be fine and the timing chain should be looked at. I'm not sure but I think it's recommended to change every 100,000 miles. I bought a topline timing kit and had lots of problems and am now going to buy oem nissan components.Again if you have the money I'd have the rotating assembly balanced and so forth.Hope this helps-Marcus

"bulletproofing" a motor is a misnomer. Even a 100% completely built hardcore all out motor can fail if not tuned or treated properly. First just remember that.

As far as building your motor up for turbo, it depends on how far you want to go, which in turn depends on how much you want to spend. You can go all out and get forged rods, pistons, a complete race balance with head work, valves and springs, etc etc etc.. Or you could simply run 5-7psi on a stock, well tuned, bottom end. There are of course many many steps in between.

What are your goals, and how much money do you have?

Also what do you mean by "valve gasket?"
