Hey everyone,

I have a quick question if someone could help me out. The backlights to my A/C controls in my J30t have quit working. The lights in the buttons that is, not the actual display. That works fine.

Anyway, apparently there are four bulbs in there that you access from the back. I called the two Infiniti dealerships to find out how much they are. ($.72 each at one, $1.30 each at the other).

They would not give me a part number or anything to track the right bulb, both places stating that I could drop by to get them. I am not going to drive 25 miles to either dealership for like $5 bucks in bulbs. Does anyone know if you can get these at a car parts store?

I did a thread search and someone stated that you can get a 2-pack of bulbs for $1.49 at Radio Shack. Can anyone confirm this? Also, what type of bulb or part number is it? I really don't have the time right now to take the panel off, pull the radio and A/C controls out just to get a bulb to show them. Can anyone help?

Also, do you think it is a bulb problem to begin with? I mean if there are four bulbs and just one burnt out wouldn't the rest still work. Is it unusual that all four quit at the same time. Just wondering.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!!!!

Use only Infiniti sourced bulbs, not RS cheapies.

I bought mine from Infiniti of Scottsdale for .30 each. The part # is 28529-10Y00. Of course, you have to pay for shipping them so you may want to order some other goodies while you're at it. I think I ordered some replacement floormats to go with my bulbs.

Check out my web page for more J30-related articles. There's one about the bulbs you're about to replace.

Thanks Maxnix and Carlos. I appreciate the replies on this. Called my sales rep at Crest, thinking of getting a G35 Coupe, anyway he was actually heading to North Dallas so he swung by and dropped the bulbs off for me.

Just ran down to the parking garage and swapped them out. That fixed it. I thought it was weird that they all four burned out at the same time but he said that was normal.

Anyway, I already have the factory head unit out getting it fixed, (LED Display quit working) so changing the A/C bulbs took like a minute tops.

Carlos-I have actually been on your website before. Your site is the place I had seen before about the bulbs but I couldn't remember where I had seen it earlier. So, I did a thread search.

Anyway, my sunroof is going out on me and I was reading your repair instructions. I was thinking about tackling that next. Is sounds pretty difficult.

Anyway. Thanks for the help guys!!
