I found something incorrect with that guy's write upThe sockets on either end don't help with the illumination, they're warning lights for the battery and fuel. Check the Gas alert light on the end, its blue. the actual illumination bulb is a smaller one right above it.
BUT, getting to my actual question, It's about the dimmer in the s13.I am trying to figure out how it works. Is it simply a toggle switch that signals to the actual dimming device elsewhere? (this seems unlikely, and wouldn't make sense)I have had it out of the car for some time now and the gauge lights still work, just can't adjust the brightness. What I'm trying to do is integrate the glowing gauge faces into the dimmer. I don't want to have to have a separate dimmer switch anywhere.I've been staring at the schematics trying to figure out where each of these five prongs go to.Some people might say I'd be draining too much voltage from the cluster illumination circuit. BUT I highly doubt that because I'm swapping everything over to LEDs so what little power I'd be saving I'll be putting back into the gauge faces which take about 7V to make them light up.
Any input would be a plus
