Does anyone here know the typical resistance of the 27W bulbs used in the S13 turn signals? And the resistance of the 3.8W sidemarker bulbs?

I need this information in order to verify that my blinking sidemarker design will work. When I successfully implement my design, I'll be happy to share to anyone who's interested having blinking sidemarkers.

Thanks!

Cold resistance [as measured with VOM] vs hot working resistance? Resistance depends on applied voltage. 200 millisecond surge. Try measuring current with 1.5 volt battery this will approximate cold resistanceOhms law V=I x R ; P= I x E27/13.2=~~ 2amps ........13.2 = 2 x 6.6ohms

Q45tech, where'd you get the "6.6 ohm" figure?

I guess i'll just pull out my bulbs and test them out with my trusty ohmmeter. I'll assume the small test currents an ohmmeter uses is good enough to approximate the cold resistance "felt" by the turn signals.

13.2volts/2 amps = 6.6 ohms ~~~E/I= R

why yes im very familiar with ohm's law of course. but i mean where'd did 2 amps and 13.2 volts (and thus 6.6 ohms) come from?

13.2 volts is roughly what the alternator puts out on our cars.

and then he got the 2 amps from 27 watt bulb / 13.2 volts.
